A glimpse from The Black St*r manuscript…
‘Guys, over here!’ it called, its voice high but laced with unease.
The others hurried over, their curiosity outweighing their unease. Scattered across the ground were diamonds, sparkling and iridescent as though they had captured the light of a thousand stars. They formed a trail that stretched forward, leading toward something glowing faintly in the distance.
The tortoise blinked slowly, its shell brushing against the grains of sand. They look like stars scattered on the earth. But why are they here? A faint doubt crept into its mind. Is this really the way forward, or are we walking into something dangerous?
